Thanksgiving is such a lovely holiday when we just gather with family and friends. It also kicks off the holiday season in which we will celebrate Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanza, and ending with the celebration of the end of 2014 and the beginning of 2015.
How will you spend this time? Will you embrace the season with joy, loving every moment of decorating, planning, and shopping for special gifts for your loved ones? Or will you become stressed with all you have to do, over-spending and worrying about how you’re going to pay for everything?
Take some time at the beginning of the season to think about the upcoming weeks, and create a strategy. Plan your shopping and your social commitments. Mark a calendar with the things you need to get done.
Don’t forget the little pleasures of the holiday season. Enjoy your traditions and create some new ones. Every morning can be a delight when you search with your children to find where the Christmas Elf is hiding. Ending the day with opening a “door” on an Advent calendar keeps everyone mindful of the season itself.
Most of all, take a deep breath … and relax!
